Effective with dates of service on and after January 1, 2022, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, occupational therapists, and occupational therapy assistants can provide and be reimbursed for remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) services by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Medicare Advantage plans, and possibly other commercial/private insurance carriers. This session will thoroughly explain the current 10 RTM CPT codes for 2026, including defining what a medical device is. This session will teach attendees how and when you can bill each RTM CPT code and what you should document to support the billing of each CPT code. The session will define what an interactive communication is, how often it must occur, and how it can occur. Lastly, the session will provide payment amounts for the 10 RTM codes for Medicare and some state Medicaid programs.
