Veda Collmer joined Raintree Systems as its General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer in January 2023. She has more than 10 years of experience in health law, privacy and compliance. Veda received the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Public Health Law Fellowship in 2012 and completed her fellowship at the Arizona State University Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law. Previously, Veda was the in-house counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at WebPT, a health information technology company for rehabilitation therapists. After WebPT, she served as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for Phoenix Spine and Joint, a leading ambulatory surgery center located in Arizona. Veda’s practice areas focus on regulatory and compliance matters, including HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare IT issues, anti-kickback, healthcare fraud, and compliance with state privacy and data security laws. Veda has spoken at numerous professional and state bar conferences, as well as written about regulations governing healthcare in academic journals, textbooks, and trade publications. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US). Prior to earning her law degree, Veda was an occupational therapist, providing rehabilitation services in various healthcare settings.
